Nesrine Djeddou

PhD Researcher

Research activity:

Biography:

Nesrine Djeddou received a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Algiers (Algeria) in 2024. She is currently working on a joint PhD thesis with the Electrical Power Engineering Unit (University of Mons) and the Environment and Electrical Systems Research Laboratory (University of Artois). Her research focuses on the development of predictive models for the ageing of electrical machine insulation systems using a hybrid AI/physics approach.

This research aims primarily to estimate the lifespan of one of the key components of the traction chain, namely the windings of the traction electric motor. The degradation of the windings, particularly the insulation of the copper wire, is explained by the shape of the signals provided by the inverter. The models developed will rely mainly on a hybrid AI/physics approach, which will provide insights into the causes of the degradation (temperature, insulation aging, the appearance of partial discharges, etc.).
