Biography:
François Vallée is currently Full Professor and acts as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UMONS.He is a member of the editorial board of the American scientific journal IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and a visiting professor at Ghent University.
His PhD Thesis focused on the modelling of renewable electricity generation within tools for calculating security of supply, and was awarded the 2010 Robert Sinave triennial prize by the Royal Belgian Society of Electricians.
François Vallée founded the Power Systems & Markets Research Group within the Electrical Power Engineering Unit at UMONS in 2020 and is now in charge of 15 researchers, wich activities are organised around the following three pillars:
-Data analysis applied to power systems,
-The modelling of renewable generation and flexible technologies within tools for calculating security of supply
-And, finally, the development of flexible technologies through optimised participation in electricity markets.
He is the author of 5 book chapters, 80 publications in international journals and around a hundred publications at international conferences.
