Project summary:
The aim of this project is to design and build a new solar cooker powered by Photo-Voltaic (PV) energy. The cooker will be powered by PV panels (1.2 kW peak) and batteries for electrical energy storage. So, it can be used day and night, on clear or cloudy days, according to the needs of local people.
This innovative solar cooker will foster the use of renewable energies in the field of domestic and commercial solar cookers, thanks to its user-friendly, flexible and practical design, all without greenhouse gas emissions.
It should also achieve a high level of acceptance among end-users thanks to the possibility, on the one hand, of cooking inside homes (in respect of privacy and culture of the inhabitants), and, on the other, of cooking at high temperatures (up to 250°C) needed for preparing traditional dishes and food products.
